Before diving into our detailed puzzle-by-puzzle Superliminal walkthrough, let's cover some basics. Firstly, remember that you cannot die in this game; even if you drop a colossal block on your head, it will harmlessly bounce off, emphasizing the dreamlike nature of the game.

Secondly, take advantage of the practice room to familiarize yourself with the game's mechanics. Experiment by picking up objects and playing with their sizes. When you release an object near the floor or a wall, it will shrink, whereas releasing it further away will cause it to grow. This technique can be repeated to adjust the size of objects dramatically. For instance, if you pick up a pawn from a desk, cross the room, and release it while looking at a distant wall, it will become significantly larger. The game's note in the practice room highlights that perception is everything, and you can even make objects appear out of thin air by aligning them in your view.

Mastering these mechanics is crucial, but don't worry, it will become second nature. Now, let's proceed with our Superliminal walkthrough, covering each of the game's nine levels.

Level 1 – Induction

Superliminal - several huge chess pieces and blocks in a room.This level introduces you to the fundamental techniques of navigating Superliminal.

Puzzle 1

Sign the contract if you wish, then proceed down the corridor to the next room.

Puzzle 2

Experiment with the pawns and other items on the table, then move through the door. You'll encounter a giant chess piece blocking your path. Pick it up, look down at the floor, and drop it to shrink it. Jump over the now smaller block and continue to the next area.

Puzzle 3

The exit door is in the far right corner, obscured by two stacked blocks. Pick up the top block and release it near the floor to shrink it. Jump onto the fallen chess piece, then onto the smaller block to reach the door.

You'll encounter your first object-blocking door. These doorways allow passage when you're empty-handed but block you if you're carrying an object.

Puzzle 4

To keep the door open, you need to place an object on the button, similar to Portal. Stand on the right side of the button to see through the door when it opens. Pick up the cube and place it on the button, then pass through the door.

Puzzle 5

Look into the previous room, pick up the cube, and focus on the ceiling in the current room. Drop and pick up the cube repeatedly to increase its size until it's large enough to serve as a step to the door in the corner. Jump onto it and proceed through the door.

Look through the left window and pick up the pawn chess piece. Then, look through the right window and place the piece on the button, aligning it with the button's shadow. Exit through the door.

Puzzle 7

This puzzle introduces object rotation, albeit limited to one plane. Pick up the cheese and use the look-up-and-drop technique to enlarge it until it serves as a ramp to the doorway.

Puzzle 8

Grab the massive block, hold it against a wall, and release it to shrink it. Repeat this process until it's small enough to place on the button to the right of the door.

Puzzle 9

Take the massive block from the left and drop it near the bottom of the wall to shrink it. Look through the broken window and place the now-tiny block on the button visible beyond. Alternatively, you can drop it on the slope to guide it through the window.

Puzzle 10

To get the block over the wall into the next room, stand in the back left corner. Raise the block until it's above the wall (watch for shadows), then release it to let it fall into the other room. Place it on the button and exit through the door.

Pick up the exit sign and repeatedly drop it from the ceiling to make it enormous. Rotate it to touch both buttons simultaneously, then release it and exit.

Puzzle 12

Ignore the button behind the door, as there's a brick wall blocking it. Instead, peek through the crack in the left wall panels and take the cheese wedge. Enlarge and rotate it until its point is against the inward-leaning wall panel. Release it to knock down the panels, allowing you to climb over and complete the level.

Level 2 – Optical

Assuming you're now comfortable with resizing objects, let's navigate through this level.

Puzzle 1

Proceed through the hotel until you reach the fire exit door. Remove it and continue. When you see a nighttime painting on your left, approach it to go upstairs. Keep going until you reach a large room. Take an exit sign off the wall, enlarge it, and use it to climb over the far wall. Hop over the boxes and through the door.

Puzzle 2

Enter the room on your right and stand near the fold-out tables and projector. Align the cube-painted items to form a perfect cube, which will materialize. Enlarge this checkered cube to use as a step to reach the corridor exit.

Another cube puzzle: stand behind the table marked with an X, looking at the flowers, and walk backwards until they align. Go to the opposite side and align the flowers on the newly appeared table with the hole in the checkered cube to obtain it. Rotate the cube to reveal it's a set of stairs, then enlarge it to reach the high door in the corridor.

Puzzle 4

Bring the cube stairs with you and use them to reach the ledge on the left of the big room. Align the missing part of the fire exit door on one of the pillars to materialize it. Without moving, 'open' it by clicking on it, then exit through this new doorway.

Puzzle 5

Head up the stairs and into the room with spilled paint. Align the cube on the ceiling, pick it up, and enlarge it to reach the upper level and yellow gantry. On the gantry, align the green pipe with the stain to create a chess piece. Pick it up and exit through the hole it creates.

Back in the hotel, look through the far skylight and pick up the Moon. Enlarge and rotate it until the tiny door on it is large enough to enter. Step through and take the elevator to complete the level.

Level 3 – Cubism

Prepare to manipulate numerous dice as you explore a mental museum/art gallery.

Once in the gallery, enter the Curator's Room on the right and grab the dice. Enlarge it to reach the ledge and proceed to the next room, taking the dice with you.

Puzzle 2

Enlarge the dice to reach the exit, then take the smaller dice from the alcove and use it as a stepping stone onto the larger dice. Go through the high door.

Puzzle 3

Simply pick up the new dice on the floor and jump down the hole it leaves. Grab the air vent beneath the floor and continue.

Puzzle 4

Use the dice as steps to progress further.

Upon entering, you'll see three dice attached to the floor. Lower the middle dice into the floor, then slide the left-hand dice to the right. Jump onto it and reach the ledge.

Puzzle 6

The dice will collapse, but pick up any side and use it to form a ramp to the ledge. Exit through the door.

Puzzle 7

Position the dice near the ledge. It may explode, but if you're lucky, it will form steps. If not, pick up any piece, enlarge it, and stack it on other chunks to reach the ledge.

Puzzle 8

Pick up the dice face opposite the stairs, move it aside, and enter the cube. Shortly after, head to the elevator to complete the level.

Level 4 – Blackout

Several tanks and bottles in Superliminal.Although there's no real danger, you might experience a few scary moments. Walk a bit before encountering the first puzzle.

Puzzle 1

The door ahead leads to a dead end, but walk to the right side of the room through the darkness to find an exit at the back.

Puzzle 2

Further on, you'll face a room where walking forward leads to a red pit. Look at the ground near the pit to find a winding platform on the left. Follow it across the pit to reach the next area.

Puzzle 3

When the door slams behind you, walk backwards into the darkness. You'll see an arrow pointing to silhouetted stairs. Ascend them.

Puzzle 4

In the red room, it seems planks block your way. Look through them and take the exit sign. Enlarge it a few times, then return through the door with plastic strips. Turn right, use the exit sign to light your way past the boxes, and drop it before going through the door.

In the storeroom, you can't take the red exit sign due to the object-blocking door. Enlarge it to illuminate the storeroom through the glass window. Climb the boxes to the high exit.

Finally, reach the IDEA generator, interact to activate it, and head straight to the elevator to complete the level.

Level 5 – Clone

This level is called Clone because some objects will spawn copies of themselves. You'll soon encounter a green fire door you can pick up and discard before reaching the first puzzle.

Puzzle 1

There's a big green button, but nothing obvious to pick up in the room; the dice and chess piece are screwed down. Go back and place the door you removed on the button.

In a Y-shaped corridor with fire doors at each end, clicking them spawns smaller doors, creating a staircase. Keep clicking until you can climb over the top of the wall and land behind the door.

Puzzle 3

Each click on the clock spawns another. Enlarge the duplicates to create a staircase, then assemble them to climb up.

Puzzle 4

The apple on the button locks the door. Stand close, clone it, look at the ceiling, and release a massive apple to knock the smaller one off. If you miss, use the right-click or equivalent to try again.

Puzzle 5

Your goal is to get an apple onto the green button up the stairs. You can only clone it, not carry it. Climb the stairs, stand behind the button, and look down at the apple so the bottom half is hidden. Click to clone an apple onto the button.

Puzzle 6

Stand at the entrance and keep cloning the SomnaSculpt sign until you have enough to climb and jump up. Reach the top level, jump down the hole beneath the door, and navigate through linear corridors to the elevator, ending the level.

Level 6 – Dollhouse

Instead of the usual route, enter the Relaxation Room. Go through the movie theater, turn right at the Suite G door, navigate the office area, and pass through the object-blocking door to reach the first puzzle.

Puzzle 1

Pick up the dollhouse, look up at the ceiling, and repeatedly drop and enlarge it until it's large enough for you to enter. Make sure the window is above your head. Enter through the door ahead, jump onto the suitcases and table, and proceed to the other door.

Puzzle 2

You'll reach a room with a door atop a Jenga-like pile. Pick up the small fan, enlarge it, and place it to blow the blocks, knocking the door free. Go through the door.

Puzzle 3

Click on the second window from the left, enlarge it, and walk through.

Puzzle 4

Pick up the inflatable castle, enlarge it, and walk through the door. Looking through the vent fan, place the castle on the top diving board to balance it. Return through the door to reach the diving board, then go through the door in front of you. If needed, resize the castle to adjust the door size.

You face two doors leading to each other and a high door on the wall. Position the larger door near the upper door/keyhole, facing it and covering the bottom quarter. Squeeze through the gap to enter. Place the smaller door on top of the first to create a passage through the keyhole.

Instead of returning to normal size, grab the cardboard dollhouse off the chair, resize it on the ledge, and enter it. Take the elevator to complete the level.

Level 7 – Labyrinth

Start by walking out of bed into the backrooms. Continue while the voice discusses the emergency protocol, returning you to the bedroom.

Puzzle 1

Deal with the alarm clock loop by walking until it beeps, returning you to the bedroom several times. Continue until the screen goes black and gravity shifts. Drop through the doorway into the catering area. Click the alarm to return upright, then take the blue sky painting to the end of the blank hallway, placing it where a door would be. Walk into the painting, sidestepping left to reach a red hall where gravity pins you against the wall.

Puzzle 2

Inside the hall, click the grey door on the right to reveal the exit and drop the door. Lift the fallen door to find a hole beneath it. Jump down to reach an orange hall.

Puzzle 3

In the orange hall, align the painted block on the right wall. As you back up, you'll fall through a crack to the next area, or run up to the wall and drop down.

Puzzle 4

This room has a trap solution. Grab the spiral staircase, look up, and drop it to enlarge it and smash through the floor. Climb down, move the junk near the elevator, and enter it. Turn around and exit through the door behind you. Follow the exit signs in the repeating hallway to the next area.

Puzzle 5

Place the dice on the left ledge after shrinking it to climb up onto the next part of the swimming pool. Turn around to see the dice on the top level. Use it to reach the next level and exit through the door.

Placing the chess piece on the button turns it 2D, so instead, stand on the button and look through the door. Use the knight to hold down the button.

Puzzle 7

Pick up the dice to change the room. Use the dice to reach the bed, pick up the cube, and drop it to be transported to a dark corridor. Walk to the end wall, drop down, click the alarm clock, and appear in elevators. Follow the arrows, opening doors until you reach a darkened hallway. Click the alarm and enter the elevator to progress.

Puzzle 8

You appear outside, but lampposts turn into 2D images when approached. Walk to each of the four 'walls' to reveal a bedroom in the middle. Enter and click the alarm clock to complete the level.

Level 8 – Whitespace

You're nearing the end. Start by figuring out how to exit the room you wake up in.

Puzzle 1

With no visible exits, look at the building model on the table. Click the chunk left of "Jungles" and enlarge it to enter the door. Make it slightly larger, position it to obscure the far door, and enter. The bricked-up doorway will now be open. Shrink the model building, pick it up, and walk toward the door. It will disappear, and you'll walk through the door as the room dissolves into white. Keep walking until you reach a black block.

Puzzle 2

You'll reach a long hallway with open walls and white pillars. Walk through and around until you see a white window in a black area. Walk through it, then turn around and use the now inverted window (a cube) to climb through the far door. In the next room, walk behind the wall with the window toward the containers and chimney, and flick the switch.

Puzzle 3

Walk toward the stairs but go through the white stair shape instead. Follow the black path until you fall and keep walking.

Puzzle 4

You'll enter a looping hallway with red, yellow, and blue pillars. Walk through the white walls to find a door behind the red and blue end. Keep going to reach the chessboard.

Puzzle 5

Stepping onto the chessboard causes you to fall through both black and white squares. Instead, use the chess pieces from the table. Place the white piece on a white square, cross to it, pick up the black piece, place it on a black square, and repeat until you're across.

Puzzle 6

You can't initially go through the white door, and you only have one cube. Turn the 2D white door into a room by dropping the cube behind it. Find a cheese wedge there, bring it back, and enlarge it to reach the high door. Position the wedge below the door.

Keep falling through chequered holes and corridors until you pass through a door into whitespace. Turn around, click the black box to reveal an exit sign and a red pit. Jump into the pit to complete the level.

Level 9 – Retrospect

A room filled with lockers in Superliminal.Activate the alarm clock to open the door. You'll receive an inspirational talk from Dr. Glenn Pierce and revisit sections of previous levels and new areas. You can move around, but the game will transport you to the next area.
