A remake of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion will have big changes to game mechanics

A purported remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, developed by Virtuos Studio using Unreal Engine 5, has been detailed by MP1st. The information, reportedly sourced from the anonymized portfolio of a former Virtuos developer, suggests a significant departure from a simple remaster.
This Oblivion remake will reportedly feature a complete reimagining of core mechanics. Expect overhauls to stamina management, stealth mechanics, attack blocking (drawing inspiration from Soulslike games to address criticisms of the original's system), archery, damage calculations (including visible impact reactions), and the user interface. The updated stamina system is anticipated to be more intuitive, and the UI and archery mechanics will reflect modern game design trends.
MP1st speculates that the project's scope expanded from an initial remaster (as hinted at in leaked Microsoft documents) to a full-scale remake.
While sources contacted by MP1st confirm the Oblivion remake won't appear at the upcoming Developer_Direct, rumors suggest a potential release within the current year.
