Marvel Rivals Competitive Rank Reset: A Comprehensive Guide

Marvel Rivals, the free-to-play Marvel-themed PvP hero shooter, features a competitive mode with rank progression. This guide details the competitive rank reset mechanism.

Competitive Rank Reset Mechanics

At the end of each season, your competitive rank decreases by seven tiers. For example, ending a season at Diamond I will result in a starting rank of Gold II in the next season. The lowest rank is Bronze III; players ending the season at Bronze or Silver will reset to Bronze III.

Rank Reset Timing

The rank reset occurs at the conclusion of each season. Season 1, commencing January 10th (at the time of writing), will mark the first reset.

Marvel Rivals Rank Tiers

Competitive mode unlocks at player level 10. Players earn points in matches to ascend through the ranks. Each 100 points earned advances the player to the next tier. The ranks are:

  • Bronze (III - I)
  • Silver (III - I)
  • Gold (III - I)
  • Platinum (III - I)
  • Diamond (III - I)
  • Grandmaster (III - I)
  • Eternity
  • One Above All (Top 500 Leaderboard)

Even after reaching Grandmaster I, players can continue earning points to achieve Eternity and One Above All. One Above All requires a top 500 leaderboard placement.

Season Duration

While Season 0 was shorter, subsequent seasons are expected to last approximately three months. New seasons introduce new heroes (e.g., the Fantastic Four) and maps, providing ample time for rank climbing.
