Alan Wake 2 developers want to become “Europe's Naughty Dog”

Remedy Entertainment's ambition: to become the European Naughty Dog. Inspired by Naughty Dog's cinematic masterpieces like the Uncharted series, Remedy's director Kyle Rowley, speaking on the Behind The Voice podcast, revealed their aspiration to be the European equivalent of this iconic studio. This influence is clearly seen in the development of Quantum Break and, more notably, Alan Wake 2.

Rowley's statement, "We should aspire to be the European version of Naughty Dog," encapsulates Remedy's drive. Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, stunning visuals, and gripping narrative are testaments to this inspiration. The game's success has cemented Remedy's position as a leading European game developer.

Remedy's ambitions extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's dominance in single-player cinematic experiences, particularly with Uncharted and the critically acclaimed, award-winning The Last of Us franchise, serves as a clear benchmark.

Even over a year post-launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive updates, enhancing gameplay across all platforms. A significant addition is a "Balanced" graphics option optimized for the PS5 Pro, skillfully blending the strengths of its Performance and Quality modes. These updates also address minor graphical tweaks for smoother framerates and clearer visuals, alongside bug fixes, particularly impacting the Lake House expansion.
