Streamers Win Hazelight Studio Tour Via Secret Stage
Split Fiction streamers have uncovered and conquered the brutal "Laser Hell" secret stage, earning them an exclusive visit to Hazelight Studios. Discover how these gamers triumphed over the notorious challenge and what's next for the studio following their game's remarkable success.
Split Fiction Keeps Delivering Exciting Discoveries
Pioneering Players Beat "Laser Hell" to Win Studio Visit
Following its successful launch last month, Split Fiction continues to surprise players with hidden content like the extremely difficult "Laser Hell" stage. Against all odds, a duo of skilled streamers overcame this punishing challenge and received a personal invitation to Hazelight Studios from the game's director.
Chinese streamers sharkOvO and E1uM4y recently shared their achievement on BiliBili, documenting their completion of Laser Hell. Players access this secret stage by inputting a specific switch sequence on the Isolation level's elevator. Correct execution transports them to a treacherous laser-filled arena.
Their victory unlocked a congratulatory video from Hazelight founder Josef Fares, who admitted most developers struggled with the stage. The director personally invited them to Sweden for a preview of the studio's next project. Fares later confirmed this on Twitter/X, praising the gamers' accomplishment and promising to follow through with the studio visit.
Hazelight Studios Begins Development on New Title
During a recent podcast appearance, Fares discussed Hazelight's creative independence regarding their next game while maintaining a positive working relationship with publisher EA. He revealed the team has already begun development on their upcoming project, though it's too early to share details.
Fares emphasized EA's hands-off approach with Hazelight, allowing complete creative freedom. Despite EA's mixed reputation, the studio maintains an exceptional partnership with the publisher, having established itself as one of EA's most successful development teams.
Major Update and Impressive Sales Milestones
Split Fiction recently received its first major update on March 17, addressing various gameplay issues, online stability, and localization improvements discovered since launch.
The game has achieved remarkable commercial success, surpassing 2 million sales in its first week - outperforming Hazelight's previous hit It Takes Two in initial sales velocity.
Split Fiction is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
