King of the Hill revival drops August, aging cast teased

Mike Judge and Greg Daniels' King of the Hill revival has unveiled its updated time-lapse intro sequence, confirming its premiere date on Hulu and Disney+ as August 4.

The official X/Twitter account shared the news today, revealing what appears to be the complete opening credits for the first new King of the Hill episodes since 2010. The Texas family visibly ages in the sequence as they appear to leave and later return to Arlen.

According to Hulu's official description: "After years working propane jobs in Saudi Arabia to build their retirement savings, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a transformed Arlen, Texas, to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby pursues his culinary dreams in Dallas while navigating his twenties alongside former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane."

While the updated intro hints at Bobby's adulthood and Dale Gribble's political ambitions, specific storylines remain under wraps. Initial reports about reviving Hank Hill's story first emerged in 2022 via THR, followed by Hulu acquiring streaming rights in 2023. The series' signature time-jump was officially confirmed later that year.

Most original voice actors have returned for the revival, including Mike Judge as Hank Hill, Kathy Najimy as Peggy Hill, Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill, and Stephen Root as Bill Dauterive. Johnny Hardwick, who voiced Dale Gribble, passed away at 64 in August 2023 after recording some dialogue for the new season.
