Damasi Rules

* The game is played on an 8×8 board. Each player starts with 16 pieces arranged on their first two rows, skipping the back row.

* Pieces ("men") move one square forward or sideways, capturing by jumping. They cannot move backward. A man reaching the opponent's back row is promoted to a "king" at the end of that move. Kings can move any number of squares forward, backward, or sideways, capturing by jumping over any opposing piece and landing on any vacant square beyond it.

* Captured pieces are removed immediately. A player must make a capture if one is available. If multiple captures are possible, the one that captures the most pieces must be chosen. In counting captured pieces, kings and men are equal; each counts as one. If several moves capture the same maximum number, the player may choose.

* The game ends when a player has no legal moves, either because all pieces are lost or are completely blocked. The opponent wins.

* Unlike other checkers variants, because pieces are removed immediately after a jump, it is possible for a capturing piece to cross the same square more than once in a single sequence.

* During a multiple capture, a 180-degree turn between jumps is not permitted.

Thank you for playing Damasi!
