The Sims Mobile to Shut Down After Final Event

After seven years on mobile devices, filled with home construction, Sims creation, and virtual life simulation, The Sims Mobile is coming to a close. EA has confirmed the game's servers will be taken offline on January 20, 2026, concluding its journey that began with its initial release in 2018.

The news arrived alongside the game's final update, which is now available. This last patch features a series of farewell events, grants players unlimited energy, and offers one final celebration period before the permanent shutdown.

What is included in the final update?

A schedule of final events leads right up to January. The Eerie Autumn Festival Pass is currently active and will run through December 19th. Following this, a rotation of themed content will be available, including Cozier Home, Hallways Ready, and Season's Greetings.

Several Wumple's Wishlist quests are also returning, providing weekly, time-limited objectives. The last major event, New Year's Dock and Roll, is scheduled from December 29th to January 10th. Concurrently, the final Wumple's Wishlist quest is set to conclude on January 17th.

The development team has arranged a special parting gift. On January 6th, 2026, every Build Mode and Create A Sim item in The Sims Mobile will become available to all players, completely removing any previous level requirements.

Do you have The Sims Mobile installed?

The game has been removed from listing on the Google Play Store. If you already have it installed on your device, you can continue to play and re-download it until the shutdown date.

While real-money purchases are no longer possible, any existing in-game currency—SimCash, Simoleons, or Tickets—remains usable until the end. The final update's unlimited energy feature allows players to complete their ongoing stories or building projects. Further details can be found in the official FAQ section on the game's website.
