Techland Adds Free Tower Raid Roguelite Mode to Dying Light 2
Techland is pushing the limits of Dying Light 2 with the introduction of Tower Raid, a dynamic, roguelite-inspired mode that offers unpredictable gameplay and intense survival challenges. After extensive testing last year, this eagerly awaited mode is now a permanent fixture in the game, providing players with a completely new way to navigate the infected-ridden world.
In Tower Raid, players step away from Aiden Caldwell and into the roles of one of four unique warriors, each representing a distinct combat archetype: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist. These classes come with their own set of abilities, encouraging varied playstyles and strategic team coordination. For those seeking an ultimate test, Tower Raid allows players to scale down their team size, or even brave the tower's perils solo.
The mode offers three difficulty levels—Quick, Normal, and Elite—each affecting the intensity and duration of the run. Every session is procedurally generated, ensuring that no two ascents of the tower are the same. With constantly changing floor layouts and unpredictable enemy encounters, adaptability becomes crucial for survival.
To keep the challenge fresh and engaging, Techland has implemented a new progression system where each failed attempt unlocks new abilities and weapons, gradually enhancing the player's chances in subsequent runs. Deep within the tower, players will encounter Sola, a mysterious merchant who rewards skilled players with rare items such as the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol.
Despite gearing up for the upcoming launch of Dying Light: The Beast, Techland remains dedicated to enriching Dying Light 2 throughout 2025. Planned updates include enhanced co-op mechanics, refined matchmaking, expanded community map integration, new Tower Raid characters, additional melee and ranged weapons, a new weapon class, improvements to the prologue, and significant graphical and technical optimizations.
