LEGO Develops In-House Video Games

by Layla Apr 18,2026

LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has detailed the company's strategic direction, announcing that the iconic toy maker will strengthen its footprint in the digital realm by producing video games. This initiative involves developing titles both in-house and via collaborations.

"We are confident that, under the LEGO brand, we can craft engaging experiences for kids of all ages across digital and physical mediums. Building games internally is a key priority we are actively advancing." Niels Christiansen

This strategy does not rule out LEGO continuing to license its brand to external developers. For example, last month, reporter Jason Schreier revealed that TT Games, a studio renowned for its LEGO-based titles, is developing a new LEGO game, likely connected to a Warner Bros. franchise.

Furthermore, LEGO has long been associated with the adventure game series created by TT Games over the last twenty years. Although the studio has been quiet about new releases lately, speculation points to a LEGO Harry Potter game in development, following the commercial triumph of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

In addition, LEGO teamed up with 2K Games to launch LEGO 2K Drive, a racing title released last year, further highlighting the brand's adaptability within the gaming sector.
