Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Sales Top 2 Million

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 shows no signs of slowing down, having sold an impressive 2 million copies in under two weeks.

Developer Warhorse Studios announced this milestone on social media, celebrating the sequel's continued commercial "triumph." This follows news of the game reaching 1 million sales merely a day after its initial launch.

The result is a remarkable achievement for Warhorse Studios' historically inspired action-RPG sequel, which launched on February 4 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Last week, Embracer Group, Warhorse's parent company, noted that the game performed exceptionally well on Steam, achieving over 250,000 peak concurrent players. For comparison, the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance peaked at just over 96,000 concurrent players on Steam seven years ago.

It's important to note that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's true concurrent player peak is likely higher, as these figures only account for the PC version on Steam and not console platforms like PlayStation or Xbox, which do not publicly share player data.

Embracer, which operates Warhorse Studios through its subsidiary Plaion, confirmed the game "has been initially successful, not only in terms of player and critic reception, but also in terms of performance."

"This reflects the dedication and hard work of our development studio, Warhorse Studios, and our publisher, Deep Silver," stated Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors.

"We firmly believe the game will continue to generate significant revenue for years to come, a testament to its exceptional quality, depth, and appeal. Warhorse Studios has a strong post-launch plan, with updates and new content scheduled over the next 12 months to ensure a continuously engaging experience for our players.

"We are extremely proud of all teams involved in the successful launch of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which has already far exceeded our expectations," Wingefors added.

The game's post-launch roadmap includes three major expansions scheduled for 2025. The spring will introduce free updates, featuring a Barbershop for enhanced character customization, a challenging Hardcore Mode, and Horse Racing. Summer will likely see the first paid DLC, titled "Brushes with Death," where protagonist Henry assists a mysterious artist with a troubled past.

In autumn, the "Legacy of the Forge" expansion will delve into Henry's backstory by exploring the history of his adoptive father, Martin. Finally, the winter release, "Mysteria Ecclesia," will send Henry on a stealthy mission to unravel the secrets within the Sedlec Monastery's complex hierarchy.
