InZOI Unveils Exciting Updates: Karma System and Ghost Zois

inZOI's Upcoming Karma System and Ghostly Encounters

inZOI game director, Hyungjun Kim, recently unveiled plans for a unique Karma system, introducing a paranormal element to the game's realistic setting. This system will determine the fate of deceased Zois, transforming them into ghosts based on their accumulated Karma points.

High Karma Zois will transition to the afterlife, while those with insufficient points remain as ghosts, tasked with accumulating enough Karma to move on. The specific actions required to restore Karma points remain undisclosed.

Kim assures players that ghost interactions will be carefully balanced to avoid overshadowing core gameplay. In the Early Access version, these interactions will be limited to specific times and circumstances, primarily involving unique conversations.

The director expressed a desire to explore more fantastical elements alongside inZOI's realistic core, stating that such additions could enhance the overall gaming experience.

A Glimpse into Karma Interactions

Krafton Inc.'s sponsored content, featuring MadMorph, offered a brief preview of the Karma system. The video showcased "Karma Interactions," a feature allowing players to perform actions that either increase or decrease Karma points. Examples shown included a playful (and slightly rude) act like secretly farting on another Zoi's face, while positive actions such as "Throwing Away Trash" or "Liking a Friend's Post" were mentioned but not demonstrated.

While the Early Access release (March 28, 2025 on Steam) will focus on the living Zois, the Karma system's full impact will be revealed in future updates.
