inZOI Developer Responds to Denuvo DRM Concerns
Denuvo DRM Will Be Removed From inZOI

The developer of inZOI has confirmed that Denuvo DRM will be taken out of the game. Over the past day, multiple reports indicated that the Creative Studio mode demo included this anti-tamper software. The use of Denuvo in video games has long been a point of controversy, with many users claiming it negatively impacts performance.
This DRM and anti-tamper technology is intended to prevent the illegal copying and distribution of PC games, making it harder for unauthorized parties to crack and share pirated versions.
In a Steam blog post published on March 26, inZOI Director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim responded to player concerns, confirming that the Early Access version launching on Friday will not include any DRM technology. "Our initial decision to use Denuvo was meant to protect the game from illegal distribution. We believed it would help maintain fairness for players who purchased the game legally. However, after reviewing community feedback, we quickly recognized that this decision did not match what our players expected," Kim stated.

He also apologized for not notifying players earlier about Denuvo’s inclusion in the Creative Studio mode. Kim explained that while removing DRM could increase the risk of unauthorized distribution, it would allow inZOI to be more freely customized, giving players greater opportunities to personalize and shape their own gameplay. "We believe that starting with this level of freedom will help the community create innovative and lasting content," he added.
inZOI Aims to Be Highly Moddable

inZOI has emphasized the important role modding will play in the game, which made the inclusion of Denuvo particularly confusing for players, since such software typically restricts modding and customization.
Kjun reinforced the team's vision, saying, "As shared during the Online Showcase, we are dedicated to making inZOI a game that supports extensive modding. Our first phase of official mod support will begin in May, allowing players to use tools like Maya and Blender to design custom content. But this is just the start. We intend to gradually broaden mod support to cover more aspects of the game, giving players various ways to customize and improve their experience."
He also mentioned that a dedicated post with more details about modding will be shared later. Krafton remains focused on putting players first by listening to feedback and making necessary changes to deliver a high-quality experience.
inZOI is scheduled to enter Early Access on March 28, 2025, for PC. The full launch will later be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As of now, the full release date has not been announced.
