Infinity Nikki: Zelda, Witcher 3 Devs Join Team

Behind-the-Scenes of Infinity Nikki
A Glimpse into Miraland
Launching December 4th (EST/PST), Infinity Nikki's 25-minute documentary offers a captivating look at its development. The film showcases the passion and years of work poured into bringing this highly anticipated title to life through interviews with key team members.
The journey began in December 2019 when the Nikki series producer envisioned an open-world game where Nikki could freely explore and adventure. Secrecy shrouded the project's early stages, with the team working from a separate, undisclosed office. "We gradually built our team, developed ideas, and laid the groundwork, a process that took over a year," explains Chief Technology Officer Fei Ge.

Game designer Sha Dingyu highlights the unprecedented challenge of integrating the established Nikki IP's dress-up mechanics into an open-world setting. This required building a framework from scratch, a process that involved years of research and development.
Despite the hurdles, the team remained committed to realizing their vision. The Nikki franchise, originating with NikkuUp2U in 2012, reaches its fifth installment with Infinity Nikki—the first to grace PC and consoles alongside mobile platforms. Ge emphasizes the team's dedication to technological and product advancement, pushing the boundaries of the Nikki IP. This commitment is even reflected in a clay model of the Grand Millewish Tree, meticulously crafted by the producer to visualize the game's world. While not a perfect replica, it symbolizes the team's passion and dedication.
The documentary showcases the stunning landscapes of Miraland, with a focus on the mystical Grand Millewish Tree and its inhabitants, the adorable Faewish Sprites. The vibrant world is populated with lifelike NPCs who continue their routines even during gameplay, creating a dynamic and immersive experience. Game designer Xiao Li points to this detail as a design highlight, contributing to the game's lively and realistic feel.
A Stellar Team

The game's polished visuals and captivating world are a testament to the team's expertise. In addition to the core Nikki team, Infinity Nikki boasts internationally renowned talent. Lead Sub Director Kentaro "Tomiken" Tominaga, a veteran of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, brings his extensive experience to the project. Concept artist Andrzej Dybowski, known for his work on The Witcher 3, also contributes his artistic vision.
Since the project's official start on December 28th, 2019, the team has dedicated 1814 days to bringing Infinity Nikki to life. With the December 4th, 2024 launch fast approaching, anticipation is at fever pitch. Prepare to embark on a magical journey through Miraland with Nikki and Momo this December!
