Bloober Team has announced "Temporal Diver," a new difficulty option for Cronos: The New Dawn, scheduled to arrive in early 2026. On December 22, the developer revealed via their official website that this survival horror title will feature an accessible easy mode designed for players who wish to experience the narrative and atmosphere with significantly reduced combat intensity.

The announcement includes a short trailer outlining the new difficulty setting and the motivation behind its creation. Although Bloober Team initially crafted Cronos to be demanding, they are introducing Temporal Diver in response to player requests for a more approachable gameplay experience.

"But, we’ve heard your voices, and we know that some of us want to explore the story behind the game in your own pace. So right now, we are working on a new difficulty setting that will be introduced in early 2026. Such is our calling," the developers explained.

At present, Cronos provides two difficulty levels. "Anvil of the Collective" acts as the standard mode, while the harder "Forged in Fire" unlocks after completing the main campaign. The upcoming Temporal Diver setting will offer boosted player health and easier enemy encounters.

Critics have commended Cronos for its "dark tone and oppressive atmosphere," observing that despite its intentional challenge level, the gameplay remains fair throughout. Building on its "Very Positive" Steam reviews, this new easy mode aims to broaden the game's appeal to players seeking a less strenuous experience.
