Destruction in the game isn't just about causing chaos; it offers players creative tactical solutions. According to the Community Update, DICE is enhancing gameplay depth by allowing players to manipulate their surroundings. "We're designing destruction around easily identifiable visual and audio language that lets you understand what can be destroyed, altered, or transformed through gameplay," DICE stated. "We aim to make destruction an integral part of your Battlefield experience to create an intuitive, fun, and rewarding environment where you feel empowered to shape the world around you."

Different types of damage will affect structures in varied ways. While explosives cause immediate devastation, sustained gunfire can also chip away at walls, allowing players to shoot through them. Audio and visual effects will signal that your actions are having an impact.

The remnants of destruction, such as rubble from a collapsed building, will stay on the battlefield, potentially serving as cover. This suggests that the next Battlefield game, often referred to as "Battlefield 6," is deeply focused on environmental interaction.

While details are scarce, "Battlefield 6" is gradually taking shape. It's set in a modern context and is slated for release within Electronic Arts' fiscal year 2026, spanning from April 2025 to March 2026. Though subject to change, especially with major competitors announcing release dates, the anticipation is high.
