Durak: Classic & Transferable

A premium implementation of the classic card game Durak, also known as Fool.

The card game "Durak" ("Fool") is arguably one of the most popular and widely played card games originating from the former Soviet Union. This version of the game allows you to play "Durak" (Fool) offline, without an internet connection, using a deck of 24, 36, or 52 cards.

"Durak" (Fool) is primarily played in two main varieties: "Throw-In Fool" (Durak podkidnoy) and "Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy). The rules for both share similarities but have distinct nuances.

The goal is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards. The winner is the player who achieves this, while the last player holding cards remains the "fool" (durak).

Throw-In Fool (durak podkidnoy) is the classic version. In this mode, if the initial attacker has no more cards to play against the defender, the player to the defender's left can throw in one card. Once that card is beaten, the throwing turn returns to the original attacker. If the player to the left has nothing to throw, the opportunity passes clockwise to the next player. All players can potentially throw cards, but only in turn. This is why it's called "Throw-In Fool" or simply classic Durak.

Transferable Fool (durak perevodnoy) extends the rules for a more dynamic game. Starting from the second attack, the defending player can "transfer" a card played against them by placing a card of the same rank but a different suit on the table. This action then makes the next player clockwise the new defender, who can also choose to transfer. This chain of transfers gives the variant its name.
