RGG Website Leaks Potential Yakuza Kiwami 3

by Sadie Feb 09,2026

Sega and its development partner, Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio, appear to have inadvertently revealed Yakuza Kiwami 3, signaling that an official announcement may be imminent.

Excitement spread across X/Twitter and Reddit after users discovered references to Yakuza Kiwami 3 on the developer's official website. Although the initial listing—which simply indicated a third installment in the Yakuza remake series—was later removed, fans managed to capture screenshots of what seems to be the leak before it vanished.

The Kiwami line consists of RGG Studio's comprehensive remakes of the original Yakuza titles. Yakuza Kiwami, released in 2016, reimagined the first Yakuza game, while Yakuza Kiwami 2 followed with a remake of the second. Though Yakuza Kiwami 3 has yet to be officially confirmed, if RGG proceeds as fans anticipate, it is expected to be a remake of Yakuza 3, originally launched in 2009 for PlayStation 3.

Should the Yakuza developer have news about Yakuza Kiwami 3, it wouldn't come as a complete surprise. The studio's annual RGG Summit is scheduled for September 24, immediately followed by an RGG Direct presentation. Many had already predicted significant updates for the Like a Dragon series, and the reported website leak arrives just a week before the event begins.

In April 2024, Like a Dragon series director Masayoshi Yokoyama also addressed the possibility of Yakuza Kiwami 3. While he advised fans not to expect an imminent announcement due to ongoing projects, he hinted that a third remake remained a future possibility.

"I'll just say that I think I'll do Kiwami 3 at some point," Yokoyama stated. "I'm sure I'll do it someday."

Now, more than a year later, fans suspect RGG may finally be preparing to share more about Yakuza Kiwami 3.
