WoW Classic Unveils Phase 7 Launch Date for Season of Discovery

Blizzard has announced that the seventh and final phase of World of Warcraft Classic's Season of Discovery will commence on January 28, bringing with it the Karazhan Crypts dungeon and the Scourge Invasions event. Shortly after, on February 6, guilds will have the opportunity to tackle the renowned Naxxramas raid, which promises new challenges for players to conquer.

Phase 7 of Season of Discovery follows closely on the heels of Phase 6, which took players back to Silithus for the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain and the Ahn'qiraj raids. During their adventures in Ahn'qiraj, players encountered a mysterious Shadowy Figure in the desert ruins. While many speculated this figure to be Xal'atath, the main antagonist from World of Warcraft: The War Within, the NPC merely hinted at the Old Gods' involvement in Phase 6. Whether this Shadowy Figure will reappear in Phase 7 remains a mystery.

Though Phase 7 marks the end of Season of Discovery, World of Warcraft Classic players will soon face new challenges. Phase 7 will go live on January 28, following server maintenance. Once the servers are back online, players can explore the new 5-player Karazhan Crypts dungeon in Deadwind Pass, located beneath the iconic Karazhan tower, which later became a 10-player raid in The Burning Crusade. Concurrently, the Scourge Invasions event will unleash hordes of undead monsters across Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Players can engage in new quests at Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands and collect Necrotic Runes from undead enemies to acquire new consumable items.

World of Warcraft Classic's Season of Discovery Phase 7 Goes Live January 28

Upon the launch of Phase 7, players can access new runes from Rune Brokers in starting zones and capital cities. Just over a week later, on February 6, the Naxxramas raid will open its doors. Similar to the Ahn'qiraj raid, Naxxramas will present additional challenges through the "Empower" difficulty option. After conquering the four wings of Naxxramas, players will face the final two bosses, Sapphiron and Kel'thuzad, in the Frostwyrm Lair.

While Season of Discovery nears its conclusion, World of Warcraft Classic has an exciting 2025 ahead across all its versions. What Blizzard has planned for the Seasonal realms moving forward remains to be seen.
