World of Warcraft: Midnight Introduces Flexible Housing System

by Madison Mar 31,2025

Blizzard has unveiled exciting new details about the in-game housing system set to debut in World of Warcraft: Midnight. While the expansion is slated for release after The War Within as part of the Worldsoul saga, the early previews have sparked significant anticipation among players due to the extensive customization options on offer.

A developer blog recently showcased in-game footage demonstrating the furniture placement mechanics. The system utilizes a grid system with automatic snapping, allowing for precise and easy arrangement of items. Players can also adorn larger pieces like shelves or tables with smaller accessories that remain attached even when repositioned.

The housing system introduces two distinct modes: a Basic Mode tailored for straightforward organization, and an Advanced Mode designed for creative builders. In Advanced Mode, players gain the ability to rotate objects on all three axes and stack them in inventive ways, facilitating the creation of intricate and visually impressive interiors.

Another standout feature is the capacity to scale objects to suit different character sizes. This allows gnomes to craft snug, cozy spaces, while larger races like tauren can design more expansive layouts. Additionally, some furniture specifically designed for the housing system will support recoloring, though this feature might not extend to legacy assets.

With Midnight still months away, Blizzard is keeping the community engaged by continuously teasing upcoming content, building excitement for the future updates of the game.
