According to an insider known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is set to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled at the MGM Music Hall from February 14th to 16th. The project, reportedly codenamed Siege X, is said to operate on an enhanced engine with upgraded graphics, featuring revamped textures and models. Furthermore, Ubisoft might forego revisiting the old temporary events from the original game, focusing instead on introducing fresh events. The anticipated release for this sequel is slated for the second season of the tenth year of support, around mid-2025.

Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, expressed that a full sequel was unnecessary as the current game continues to evolve. However, if the leak holds true, it appears Ubisoft might have reconsidered their stance. It's crucial to approach such rumors with skepticism until Ubisoft officially confirms them.

The Six Invitational 2025, the Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, is on the horizon. It will take place in Boston, where twenty teams will vie for a piece of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the coveted championship title. Oxygen Esports, having clinched the North American Last Chance Qualifier, is the final team to secure a spot.

Hosting a competition with twenty teams is not the norm. While Ubisoft is likely to maintain the format from last year—dividing the teams into four groups for a round-robin phase among five teams, followed by Double Elimination playoffs—an innovative twist could be in store. The top team in each group will bypass the first round, fourth-placed teams will start in the lower bracket, and the rest will enter the playoffs in the upper bracket, with the last team in each group facing elimination.
