IDW has recently relaunched its flagship Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic, but fans are also eagerly awaiting a significant finale. Here's IDW's official synopsis for issue #5:

The second installment in the legendary Last Ronin saga reaches its explosive and dramatic conclusion! The streets of New York are engulfed in chaos and war, putting everyone at risk. Casey, April, Odyn, Yi, Moja, and Uno find themselves in the line of fire. Will they all survive? The fate of these beloved characters lies in the hands of iconic writers Kevin Eastman & Tom Waltz as this chapter of The Last Ronin saga draws to a close!

In a 2024 interview with IGN, co-creator Kevin Eastman shared insights into the evolution of the characters: "One of the things that we aimed to do was to refresh the characters. We introduced two male and two female Turtle characters, and Tom and I tried to capture the essence of what today's teenagers might think, say, and do. There's a diverse range of personalities, reminiscent of the original Turtles. They love their family deeply but don't always get along. They might argue, bicker, or have disagreements, but when it comes down to it, their teamwork and family bonds are what keep them strong. That's the core foundation of the Turtles, and it will always be at the heart of our stories."
