Marvel's Thunderbolts* 4K Steelbook Now Available for Preorder
Marvel fans eager to grow their movie libraries have cause for celebration: physical copies of Thunderbolts* are now available for preorder. Multiple editions are launching, including a 4K steelbook (find it here at Amazon) and a Walmart-exclusive Blu-ray, both scheduled for release on July 29.
We've broken down the key differences between the Blu-ray and the 4K steelbook to help you compare all the details before you decide. For the record, every version retains the film's official title.
Thunderbolts* - Collector's Edition 4K Ultra HD Steelbook

$44.99 at AmazonCollector's Edition 4K Steelbook: Amazon ($44.99) | Walmart ($44.99) Standard 4K Steelbook: Amazon ($43.99)
The Thunderbolts* 4K steelbook comes in a charcoal case, layered with iconic imagery and spray-paint markings from the movie. The Collector's Edition prominently displays '*The New Avengers' on the front cover and 'Thunderbolts*' along the spine. Both the Amazon and Walmart versions appear identical in design and price, so your choice really comes down to which retailer is more convenient for you.
Beyond the striking cover art, the steelbook's main draw is watching the high-octane action in stunning 4K resolution—just be sure you have a compatible 4K setup to get the most value from the upgrade.
In terms of special features, you'll find the expected lineup: a gag reel, a collection of deleted scenes, and an audio commentary from director Jake Schreier. A selection of exclusive featurettes is also included, offering a behind-the-scenes look at Florence Pugh's death-defying stunt, a documentary on assembling the Thunderbolts team, and an in-depth conversation with actor Lewis Pullman about his character's journey (don't worry—no spoilers!).
Thunderbolts* - Walmart-Exclusive Blu-ray

While it includes the same bonus features as the 4K steelbook, the Thunderbolts* Blu-ray sports a sleek center image of the unlikely team—a nice visual touch. The Walmart-exclusive edition (featuring 'Thunderbolts: The New Avengers' in full on the cover) also boasts a dynamic pop-up display of the squad in action.
Inside the case, you get a physical Blu-ray disc plus a digital code redeemable on the Movies Anywhere platform. The main compromise, of course, is the lack of 4K video support.

We found Thunderbolts* to be a refreshing entry in the MCU. In our Thunderbolts* review, critic Clint Gage described it as "the most solid the sacred timeline has felt in some time, delivering an adventure worthy of its often-overlooked protagonists."
If you missed the theatrical run and don't want a physical copy, Thunderbolts* is slated to hit digital storefronts on July 1. It will eventually join the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe library on Disney+ as well.
If you're interested in preserving more favorite films in physical media, we're tracking all upcoming 4K and Blu-ray releases in one convenient list. Recent highlights include the Blu-ray debut of the Looney Tunes Platinum Collection Vol. 1 & 2 and a special edition steelbook for Jaws' 50th Anniversary.
