Stellar Blade Summer Update Makes It Hotter

Thanks to its summer update released on July 25th, Stellar Blade experienced a remarkable 40% increase in its player count. This update delivered a compelling blend of bug fixes, stylish new outfits, and a limited-time event.

Data analysis by TrueTrophies, in partnership with GameInsights, leveraged a sample of over 3.1 million active PSN accounts to track player engagement across PS5 and PS4 games. Their findings clearly show Stellar Blade's player count soared by 40.14% following the update's release.

Crucially, Stellar Blade wasn't on sale during this period, strongly suggesting the player influx was directly driven by the new content. While the highly anticipated photo mode remained absent, and the update's nature was time-limited, the significant player count increase undeniably reignited fan enthusiasm.

The summer update introduced a limited-time summer vacation area within the Great Desert Oasis, complete with new background music and interactive sunbeds. Two themed outfits were also added to Clyde's shop, perfectly complementing the update's atmosphere. Furthermore, the update addressed several issues, including a fix for the hair color in the Boss Challenge Preset, and other essential bug fixes.

Stellar Blade, exclusively launched on PS5 on April 26th, 2024, garnered significant praise from players and critics alike for its fast-paced combat and visually stunning presentation. Despite some considering the summer update relatively modest, the overwhelmingly positive community response and return of many players speaks volumes. It seems a virtual summer getaway was just what Stellar Blade needed to reignite the player base.
