Starfield PS5 Release Speculation Grows After PlayStation Logo Spotted
Rumors of Starfield's PlayStation 5 release intensified after fans noticed a PlayStation logo on Bethesda’s official Creations website.
The logo appeared on a work-in-progress ship decals Creation for Starfield, which was later removed, fueling speculation that Bethesda’s PC and Xbox-exclusive sci-fi title may soon launch on PS5.
They have added the Playstation logo to a creation. (I think they are beta testers, the logo only appears on one creation)

Speculation suggests Bethesda may announce a major content update or new expansion alongside Starfield’s potential PS5 debut. The game’s recent Shattered Space expansion disappointed fans, and Microsoft’s upcoming summer showcase could reveal more Starfield news.
Bethesda has promised "exciting things" for Starfield in 2025, despite player frustration over limited updates. In June 2024, Bethesda reaffirmed its commitment to Starfield, announcing another story expansion post-Shattered Space. In a YouTube channel MrMattyPlays interview, Bethesda’s Todd Howard shared plans for annual story expansions for “hopefully a very long time.”

Starfield, Bethesda’s first new IP in years, launched in September 2023 and was the studio’s first major single-player title since Microsoft acquired ZeniMax Media in March 2021. IGN’s Starfield review gave it a 7/10, noting: “Starfield has a lot of forces working against it, but eventually the allure of its expansive roleplaying quests and respectable combat make its gravitational pull difficult to resist.”
In January, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer didn’t dismiss the possibility of Starfield on PS5. Reports from March 2024 suggested both Starfield and MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle were being considered for PS5. Indiana Jones was later confirmed for PS5 with a spring 2025 release, while Starfield’s PS5 status remains unconfirmed but likely.
Several Xbox titles, including Rare’s Sea of Thieves, Tango Gameworks’ Hi-Fi Rush, and Obsidian’s Grounded and Pentiment, are already on PS5. Microsoft also publishes Minecraft across platforms and plans to release Doom: The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4 on PS5 in 2025. Playground’s Forza Horizon 5 is also slated for PS5, and there are even rumors of Halo potentially hitting PlayStation after years of Xbox exclusivity.

Spencer explained Xbox’s multiplatform strategy aims to boost revenue for Microsoft’s gaming division, especially after the $69 billion Activision Blizzard acquisition.
“We run a business,” Spencer said in August 2024. “Microsoft’s high expectations push us to deliver. We aim to strengthen our games and grow our platform across console, PC, and cloud.”
Bethesda Game Studios, with 450 staff across five teams—Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout 76, mobile, and external partnerships—faces a busy 2025.
