Samago's 24-hour Frog Challenge Launches on Android

Samago

Samago has just launched on mobile, a new pixel-art platformer from Finnish indie studio This Reality. This game is all about frogs—in all shapes, colors, and sizes. It's also a 24-hour challenge. If you have ranidaphobia (a fear of frogs), this game is definitely not for you!

What is the gameplay like in Samago?

You take control of a frog racing through precise platforming stages. However, each stage is only available for 24 hours. Every player around the world gets the same level layout during that cycle.

Once the timer runs out, the leaderboard resets and a new course is generated. It’s a daily challenge system that requires quick adaptation and offers fresh obstacles every day.

As you progress through levels packed with tricky obstacles and enemies, you'll encounter the ghost recordings of other players. These ghost frogs can even steal your coins if you're not careful—watch out!

Observing how others tackle the course can reveal better strategies, but it also adds an extra layer of risk to each run. Want to see it in action? Check out Samago in the video below.

If daily pressure isn't your thing, there's also a Practice Mode. Here, the level changes each time you die instead of lasting 24 hours.

This lets you sharpen your platforming skills at your own pace. When you're ready, jump back into the main mode to compete for high scores against other players.

Extensive customization options

You can customize your frog with skins, costumes, and trails that are visible to others. Skins come in many colors, and so do costumes and trail effects. Imagine a neon pink frog in a funky cowboy outfit, leaving a streak of green flame behind. The game also allows you to decorate your frog’s home with collectible furniture and accessories.

Top scorers can earn daily rewards. Players who rank in the top five receive special bonuses. Samago is free to play and available now on the Google Play Store.
