Rockstar Releases Anniversary Edition Update for Bully After Six Years

Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have just rolled out an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update is a welcome surprise for fans, and it's exclusively available on mobile, not on console or PC.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

Bully: Anniversary Edition now comes with updated language support and a patch that's all about enhancing stability and fixing pesky bugs. Unfortunately, Friends Challenges have been temporarily disabled, but don't worry—they'll be back.

For Android users with compatible devices, Rockstar has introduced Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), enhancing the visual experience. The app icon has been refreshed, and both Android and iOS players will enjoy new haptic feedback.

Several mission-specific issues have been resolved, such as the impossible-to-pick locker in 'That Bitch,' the progression glitch in 'Weed Killer' if the window was broken too soon, and the disappearing police cars during 'The Rumble.' Additionally, the update fixes the odd behavior where enemies wouldn't attack Jimmy, ensuring fights feel balanced again. It also addresses crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

While fans have been clamoring for Bully 2 for years, Rockstar seems to be focusing elsewhere. Rumors of a sequel in development during the 2010s were dashed when the project was reportedly shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, hopes for Bully 2 are dimming, especially as many of the original developers have moved on from Rockstar.

This new update for Bully: Anniversary Edition isn't a full remaster or a sequel, but it's a solid upgrade for mobile players. If you've never experienced Bully, it's Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game where you play as Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of Bullworth Academy, complete with the classic Rockstar humor and open-world antics.

Head over to the Google Play Store to grab Bully: Anniversary Edition for €7.99, and enjoy the full gamepad support that comes with it.
