Remedy Unveils Latest Game Development Projects

According to Remedy's annual report, Control 2 has successfully passed the concept validation stage and has now moved into full production. This significant milestone confirms that the project is steadily moving forward, exciting fans and stakeholders alike.

In addition to Control 2, two other exciting projects are actively in development: FBC: Firebreak and the highly anticipated remakes of Max Payne 1+2. Just a year ago, these games were in the preparation phase for production, but they have since advanced to the next stage, indicating a robust development pipeline. However, it's worth noting that the project Kestrel, which was being developed in collaboration with Tencent, has been removed from the studio's plans. It was canceled back in May of last year.

All these projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has already demonstrated its prowess in games like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy titles. The use of Northlight promises high-quality gameplay and stunning visuals that fans have come to expect from Remedy.

As for the financial aspect, Control 2 carries an estimated budget of 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by the studio and is set to launch on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms. On the other hand, FBC: Firebreak has a slightly more modest budget of 30 million euros. This project will be accessible on PlayStation and Xbox subscription services upon release, in addition to being available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 remain shrouded in mystery regarding their budget, but it is known that they will be AAA-level games. Both development and marketing efforts for these remakes are fully funded by Rockstar Games, ensuring a high-caliber release.
