Marvel Rivals Season 1: Unlocking Recursive Destruction in Midtown

Season 1 of Marvel Rivals introduces new characters, maps, and modes, along with a fresh set of challenges rewarding players with free items, including a Thor skin. This guide focuses on triggering Recursive Destruction in the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown map.

What is Recursive Destruction?

The "Blood Moon Over the Big Apple" challenge requires triggering Recursive Destruction. This occurs when destroying a Dracula-influenced object that then reappears in its original form. Not all objects qualify; you must identify the correct ones.

Identifying Destructible Objects

Use Chrono Vision (keyboard "B" or console right D-pad button) to highlight destructible objects. Only objects highlighted in red will trigger Recursive Destruction.

Triggering Recursive Destruction in Midtown

This challenge is completed in Quick Match (Midtown) mode. Initially, no red-highlighted objects will be available. Wait for the first checkpoint; two buildings will then appear, capable of triggering Recursive Destruction.

Gameplay Strategy

While engaging in combat, prioritize destroying these buildings. You might not always see the objects reappear immediately due to the fast-paced action, but multiple hits should complete the challenge. If unsuccessful, simply replay the match. After completing this challenge, focus on the subsequent challenges featuring Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman.
