"Pokemon GO Announces Upcoming Gigantamax Event"

Get ready for an exciting new addition to Pokemon GO: Gigantamax Kingler is set to make its debut on February 1, 2025, during the upcoming Max Battle Day event. This event marks a significant update since the introduction of Dynamax and Gigantamax forms last year, expanding the roster of these powerful variants available in the game.

Gigantamax is a special type of Dynamax that not only increases a Pokemon's size and strength but also transforms its appearance and grants unique G-Max Moves. While the main series games feature 32 Pokemon capable of Gigantamaxing, Pokemon GO currently includes only six, with the recent addition of Gigantamax Lapras. The upcoming event will add Gigantamax Kingler to this exclusive list.

Gigantamax Kingler Debuts at Pokemon GO's Upcoming Max Battle Day

During the Max Battle Day event, players can collect up to 1600 Max Particles, essential for participating in Pokemon GO's Max Battles. Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles more frequently and offer 8x more particles. Between 12 am and 5 pm on February 1, players will earn double the Max Particles while exploring and will only need to travel a quarter of the usual distance to collect them. A special $5 ticket will provide one Max Mushroom, 25,000 XP, double XP from Max Battles, and boost the Max Particle collection limit to 5,600. Additionally, a $7.99 box with six particle packs will be available on the Pokemon GO Web Store.

Max Battle Day is just one of the exciting events lined up for February. Earlier, Niantic announced the Lunar New Year event, running from January 29 to February 1. Although Gigantamax Kingler won't be part of this event, players can look forward to other thrilling activities, including the return of Shadow Ho-Oh in a Shadow Raid Day on January 19, and the introduction of more Galar Pokemon in the coming days.
