The Pokémon Company has confirmed that Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its enhanced Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will launch worldwide on October 16, 2025. Preorders open June 5 across participating retailers.

New Pokémon Presents Announced

A special Pokémon Presents showcase is scheduled for July 22, promising fresh updates about upcoming Pokémon projects. Additionally, new Mega Evolution merchandise is now available via the Pokémon Center online store.

Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade Details

Players purchasing either the physical or digital Switch version can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition for $10 through Nintendo's eShop or My Nintendo Store. The enhanced version features upgraded visuals and smoother performance.

The newly revealed box art showcases protagonists and Pokémon battling a Mega-Evolved creature beneath Lumiose City's night sky. Here's the official description:

Mega Evolution Celebration

The announcement coincides with a global Mega Evolution celebration, featuring themed apparel, accessories, and plush toys. The collection includes limited-edition Mega Charizard X/Y pins and merchandise starring fan-favorites like Mega Lucario and Mega Gengar.

Preorders at Pokémon Center (U.S./Canada/U.K.) include a random Sitting Cuties plush of either Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile. The game was first teased during last year's Pokémon Presents, with recent trailers revealing expansive city exploration and dynamic combat mechanics.
