Plants vs. Zombies first launched on PC in 2009 by PopCap Games. It was quirky, hilarious, and instantly addictive. Seeing Sunflowers beam while cone-wearing zombies shambled across lawns quickly won over players worldwide.

The game made its way to mobile devices in 2010, and by 2012, EA acquired PopCap. In 2013, Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time was released, introducing new worlds and wild mechanics.

Meanwhile, Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia has been in development since 2020. After a soft launch, the team decided to refine the game with a new art style and a return to classic tower defense gameplay.
