"Nolan North Welcomes Troy Baker to Adventure Game Elite on PS5"
Bethesda has announced that MachineGames' eagerly anticipated game, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, will launch on PlayStation 5 with early access starting April 15, ahead of its global release on April 17. Fans who pre-order the game will enjoy this exclusive early access opportunity.
This PS5 release comes four months after the game debuted on Xbox and PC. Alongside the announcement, Bethesda released a playful promotional trailer featuring a unique crossover between two iconic video game actors, Troy Baker and Nolan North.
In the trailer, Troy Baker, known for his role as Indiana Jones, sits down for a chat with Nolan North, the voice behind Nathan Drake from the PlayStation-exclusive Uncharted series. This encounter is especially poignant given the clear inspiration Uncharted draws from the Indiana Jones franchise, making it a full-circle moment for The Great Circle.
Adding an intriguing layer, Microsoft-owned Bethesda cleverly involves Nolan North, associated with Sony's Uncharted franchise, in their promotional material. While North avoids directly referencing Nathan Drake or Uncharted due to legal considerations, his performance exudes a knowing nod to fans.
In the video, North humorously suggests he's broken into the luxurious room where they're sitting, hinting at the imminent arrival of goons—a typical scenario in a Nathan Drake adventure. North questions Baker on how he plans to handle Private Military Forces with just a whip. Baker responds by tapping his head, to which North interjects with "headbutt," adding, "I like it. Aggressive." North then describes his character as more inclined towards using sidearms and wearing casual attire, to which Baker quips about his character's perpetually half-tucked shirt.
Both actors share a moment over their mutual love for ancient artifacts, though with contrasting intentions—North's character aims to sell them to the highest bidder, while Baker's wants to preserve them in museums. This exchange symbolizes Nathan Drake welcoming Indiana Jones into an "exclusive club" of adventurers. "Welcome to the club," North declares, symbolizing the inclusion of Xbox's Indiana Jones alongside PlayStation's Uncharted on Sony's console. The scene humorously sets the stage for other iconic characters like Lara Croft to join in on the adventure.

This release is part of Microsoft's broader strategy to bring its games to multiple platforms, following the likes of Forza Horizon 5 and Doom: The Dark Ages. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has already seen impressive numbers, reaching 4 million players on its launch day on Game Pass, with expectations of further growth upon its PS5 debut.
In related news, Harrison Ford, the iconic actor behind Indiana Jones, has praised Troy Baker's portrayal of the character in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Ford expressed his satisfaction with Baker's performance, humorously stating, "You don’t need artificial intelligence to steal my soul. You can already do it for nickels and dimes with good ideas and talent. He did a brilliant job, and it didn’t take AI to do it."
