Nintendo to Shut Down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Yes, you read that correctly! Nintendo has announced the end-of-service (EOS) for the beloved mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, leaving fans stunned. Despite its ongoing popularity, the game's journey is set to conclude. Let's dive into the details!

When Is Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Shutting Down?

Mark your calendars for November 28th, 2024, as this is when the online services for Pocket Camp will cease. If you're still enjoying your time at your cozy campsite, make the most of these final days. Interestingly, the game will celebrate its seventh anniversary on November 21st, just a week before its EOS.

From that date, you won't be able to purchase Leaf Tickets or renew your Pocket Camp Club memberships. Notably, auto-renewals for the Pocket Camp Club will stop on October 28th, 2024. If your membership continues past this date, you won't receive a refund, but you will receive a special badge in your in-game mailbox.

Make sure to grab any Leaf Tickets you need by November 26th, as this will be your last opportunity. The final farewell to the online community will occur on November 28th at 7:00 AM PST.

But Here's Some Good News: It's Not a Complete Farewell!

Nintendo isn't leaving fans completely in the lurch. They are developing a paid offline version of the game. While this version won't include features like Market Boxes, gift exchanges, or visiting friends' campsites, the core gameplay will remain intact.

You'll be able to retain all your saved data and continue playing without an internet connection. Look out for more details about this new paid version starting in October 2024.

It's worth noting that Nintendo has been gradually phasing out its mobile games. Titles like Dr. Mario World, Dragalia Lost, and now Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp have been affected. Even Mario Kart Tour has been placed in maintenance mode. So, while the shutdown of Pocket Camp may come as a surprise to some, it aligns with Nintendo's recent trends.

If you want to make the most of the remaining time, you can still download Pocket Camp from the Google Play Store. And don't forget to check out our next story on Monument Valley 3 by Netflix.
