Marvel Rivals to Enhance Performance with New Feature
Marvel Rivals Season 2: Enhancing Performance and Introducing New Content
Marvel Rivals is set to elevate its gameplay experience with the launch of Season 2, featuring a groundbreaking experimental feature aimed at boosting stability and reducing memory usage. This update promises to refine the gaming experience, particularly for players with lower-end systems. Let's dive into what Season 2 holds for Marvel Rivals enthusiasts.
Marvel Rivals Upcoming Features and Events
Switch Shader Compilation Mode
NetEase is rolling out an innovative feature called Switch Shader Compilation Mode, designed to enhance Marvel Rivals' stability and decrease its memory footprint. Announced via a Twitter (X) post on April 30, this feature is poised to significantly improve the player experience, especially for those on systems with limited RAM or facing FPS issues.
In a detailed blog post, Marvel Rivals addressed player concerns about performance stutters and crashes due to excessive memory use during gameplay. The Switch Shader Compilation Mode, set to be introduced in Season 2, aims to tackle these issues head-on. Players can enable this feature through the PC launcher, and it's particularly beneficial for those with 16GB of RAM or less.
Upon activation, the feature optimizes the shader compilation process to occur only upon first entering the game after a new update or graphics driver change. This results in a significant reduction in memory usage, minimizing severe FPS drops, frozen visuals, and crashes due to memory shortages.
While this feature promises substantial improvements, Marvel Rivals has noted some potential drawbacks. At the start of each match, some materials might render abnormally for a few frames before returning to normal. Additionally, there may be some initial stutters, but gameplay should stabilize thereafter.
Marvel Rivals Season 2 Twitch Drops
Kicking off Season 2, Marvel Rivals introduces a new Twitch Drops campaign running from April 11 at 12:00 UTC to April 30 at 23:59 UTC. To participate and claim rewards, players must link their Marvel Rivals accounts to their Twitch accounts and watch any Marvel Rivals streams with Drops enabled. The rewards vary based on the duration of viewing, offering players exciting in-game goodies for their engagement.
Marvel Rivals Season 2 Going Live Soon
In anticipation of Season 2, Marvel Rivals will undergo maintenance starting on April 11 at 9:00 UTC, expected to last between 2 to 3 hours. This update heralds the arrival of Emma Frost as a new playable character, complete with her X-Revolution and Blue Sapphire skins. Additionally, Season 2 introduces a new Domination map, Hellfire Gala: Krakoa, and a fresh battle pass boasting 10 new sets of heroic costumes.
Marvel Rivals' latest Dev Vision previewed Season 2's Hellfire Gala and outlined plans for shorter seasons, with the addition of one new hero per month, ensuring a constant stream of fresh content for players.
Marvel Rivals is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates and insights into the evolving world of Marvel Rivals.
