Marvel Rivals Developer Says There's Currently No Plan for a PvE Mode

by Nathan Feb 18,2025

Marvel Rivals players eagerly anticipate future content additions, with recent speculation focusing on a potential PvE mode. However, NetEase, the game's developer, has officially stated that a full-fledged PvE mode isn't currently in the works.

At DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu clarified the situation: While there are no immediate plans for a dedicated PvE mode, the development team is actively exploring various gameplay options. Wu emphasized that any new mode would need to be both engaging and fun to warrant inclusion in the game. He hinted at experimentation with "lighter" PvE experiences, possibly limited-time events, to gauge player interest and find the right fit for Marvel Rivals.

This aligns with Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo's comments, suggesting that while a hardcore PvE mode might significantly alter the current game experience, NetEase is exploring less intensive alternatives.

Despite the lack of concrete PvE plans, Marvel Rivals continues to receive regular updates. New characters, such as the Human Torch and The Thing, are slated for release on February 21st. Further discussions with Wu and Koo also covered potential Nintendo Switch 2 release and addressed rumors regarding intentionally misleading dataminers with false hero leaks.
