Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Soars to Sales Success

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's Resurgence: Over 200,000 Copies Sold!

Following its release late last year, the Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP remaster has reportedly surpassed 200,000 units sold, demonstrating strong fan demand for this action-packed title. Despite initial launch challenges including technical issues and some controversy, the game's sales figures highlight its enduring appeal.

Developed by Dragami Games (Grasshopper Manufacture, the original developer, did not return for the remaster), Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP offers a revitalized experience with improved visuals and quality-of-life enhancements. The game retains the core gameplay of its predecessor: a high-octane hack-and-slash adventure where players, as cheerleader Juliet Starling, battle hordes of zombies with a chainsaw.

This sales milestone, achieved across current and last-gen consoles and PC, was announced by Dragami Games on social media several months after the September 2024 launch. The original Lollipop Chainsaw, released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, achieved even greater success, selling over a million copies. Its unique appeal stemmed from the collaboration between Goichi Suda (Grasshopper Manufacture) and James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), whose creative input shaped the game's narrative and overall style.

While future plans for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, including potential DLC or a sequel, remain unannounced, the game's sales success bodes well for remasters of other cult classic titles. This positive reception follows the recent release of another Grasshopper Manufacture game, Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered, showcasing renewed interest in bringing beloved, niche titles to modern platforms.
