Jack Quaid Eyes Bioshock Role Amid Max Payne Comparisons in Novocaine

Jack Quaid, star of the popular series *The Boys*, recently expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility of appearing in a *BioShock* movie during a Reddit AMA. Quaid, who is promoting his new film *Novocaine*, stated that *BioShock* is one of his all-time favorite games due to its "rich lore," which he believes could be effectively explored in a film or television adaptation. "I would actually love to be in a live action adaptation of *BioShock* - one of my favorite games of all time," he shared.

The potential for a *BioShock* movie has been a topic of discussion, especially after producer Roy Lee mentioned last July that the project had undergone a "reconfiguration" following leadership changes at Netflix. The revised approach aims to create a "more personal" film, influenced by budget constraints. Although specific plot details remain under wraps, Francis Lawrence, known for directing *The Hunger Games*, is still attached to helm the project. Lee noted, "The new regime has lowered the budgets... So we’re doing a much smaller version. It’s going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project."

In the same AMA, Quaid acknowledged the frequent comparisons between himself and the video game character Max Payne, whose likeness is inspired by Remedy's Sam Lake. Fans have even speculated that Quaid's role in *Novocaine* resembles Max Payne. Quaid admitted, "I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take. I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."

Beyond *BioShock* and *Max Payne*, Quaid revealed his passion for FromSoftware's challenging games. He mentioned conquering *Bloodborne* and *Sekiro* before tackling *Elden Ring*. "I'm a huge video game nerd," he said. "And lately I've been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library... I love how challenging the games are - it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed."
