ICE on the Edge: Anime Figure Skating Simulator

Melpot Studio has released the debut trailer for its upcoming figure skating simulator, ICE on the Edge, scheduled for a PC launch on Steam in 2026. This ambitious project aims to blend striking anime-style art with precise, authentic skating routines, developed in consultation with professional figure skaters.

In ICE on the Edge, you take on the role of a coach, guiding the development of your skaters. Your duties involve choreographing programs, selecting music and costumes, and deciding on technical elements. Your objective is to lead your athletes to triumph at the major fictional tournament, On the Edge. The game's choreography benefits from the expertise of acclaimed Japanese skater Akiko Suzuki, known for her work on the anime Medalist.

The development team started with minimal background in figure skating but committed to a deep dive into the sport. They immersed themselves in its complexities—from analyzing different jumps to mastering the scoring system—to create a genuine and engaging simulation.

By combining anime aesthetics with realistic skating physics, ICE on the Edge seeks to appeal to both gamers and figure skating fans.
