ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell expressed their excitement about showcasing *Hollow Knight: Silksong* at the Game Worlds exhibition. "Since Hollow Knight: Silksong's initial announcement in 2019, it has been one of the most anticipated indie games on the planet – and we are thrilled to celebrate the design of this South Australian-made game as a centrepiece of Game Worlds in September," they stated. They highlighted the detailed displays that will feature hundreds of sprites animating Hornet’s movements and attacks, the logic behind challenging boss fights, and the game's overall artistic direction.

The excitement surrounding *Hollow Knight: Silksong* continues to build. The game made a brief appearance at Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct last month, offering a few seconds of new gameplay and confirming Team Cherry’s updated 2025 release window. Initially confirmed for Nintendo Switch and PC, with subsequent announcements for Xbox (and Game Pass), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, *Silksong* has been at the center of numerous teases over the years, including a mysterious chocolate cake recipe tease at the start of 2025 that led fans to hope for an April re-reveal.
