HBO's Harry Potter Series Casts Malfoys

The upcoming Harry Potter HBO TV series has finalized casting for Draco Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy, Molly Weasley and several other pivotal characters.

Katherine Parkinson, acclaimed for her role in The IT Crowd, will bring her signature charm to Molly Weasley - the warm-hearted Weasley family matriarch previously portrayed by Julie Walters in the film adaptations.

Fresh talent Lox Pratt steps into the coveted role of Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter's silver-haired Slytherin rival and primary school antagonist. Meanwhile, Lovesick star Johnny Flynn will embody Draco's cunning father, Lucius Malfoy.

The cast expands with promising newcomers portraying Hogwarts classmates: Leo Earley as explosive-loving Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, and Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown.

This announcement follows earlier revelations including The Crown's Bertie Carvel as Minister Cornelius Fudge, with Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby confirmed as the unpleasant Dursleys - Petunia and Vernon.

With principal photography approaching, the core ensemble is nearly complete - including the young actors portraying the legendary trio: Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger), and Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley).

Casting began with veteran John Lithgow announced as Albus Dumbledore, followed by prestigious additions: Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid), Luke Thallon (Quirinus Quirrell), and Paul Whitehouse (Argus Filch).
