Netflix: Over 50% Users Stream Anime

Netflix stole the show at Anime Expo 2025 with multiple announcements, revealing a staggering fact: half its subscriber base actively watches anime.

The streaming giant disclosed these figures in an official post during the weekend event. Alongside previews of highly anticipated series like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, Sakamoto Days, and Dan Da Dan, Netflix confirmed that "over 50% of members" engage with anime content. While specifics weren't provided, this statistic undeniably highlights anime's growing mainstream appeal.

Though Netflix's current subscriber count remains undisclosed, we know it surpassed 300 million accounts earlier this year when announcing price adjustments. This suggests approximately 150 million users regularly stream anime content as Netflix expands its animation catalog.

At Anime Expo 2025, Netflix reaffirmed its commitment to anime content. Current releases include weekly Dan Da Dan Season 2 episodes, with Leviathan, Sakamoto Days, and My Melody & Kuromi premieres scheduled later this month. Subscribers can also anticipate more Record of Ragnarok this December, Beastars Final Season Part 2 in 2026, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 arriving eventually.
