Fortnite Relaunches Classic Gameplay with Reload Mode Overhaul

Fortnite's new Reload mode brings back classic locations with a modern twist! This fast-paced mode throws 40 players onto a smaller map featuring iconic locations like Tilted Towers and Retail Row.

What Makes Reload Mode Unique?

This mode emphasizes squad survival. A full squad wipe means elimination; there are no second chances. Whether you prefer Battle Royale or Zero Build, the goal remains the same: be the last squad standing.

Reload mode features a compact island, eliminating drivable vehicles but offering a diverse range of unvaulted weapons. Expect to find old favorites like the Revolver, Tactical Shotgun, Lever Action Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, and Grappler.

Victory Crowns remain in play. Reboots are possible, but you return with only a common Assault Rifle (and building materials in Build mode). The Reboot Timer adds intensity, starting at 30 seconds and increasing to 40 seconds as the match progresses. Eliminating enemies reduces this timer.

Elimination and Strategy

Eliminated players drop Small Shield Potions, ammo, and building materials (in Build mode), encouraging resourcefulness and maintaining the high-stakes action.

Rewarding Challenges

Reload mode also includes introductory quests offering substantial XP rewards. Complete three quests to earn the Digital Dogfight Contrail, six for the Pool Cubes Wrap, and nine for the NaNa Bath Back Bling. A Victory Royale unlocks The Rezzbrella Glider.
