"Engineers to Care for Grogu in New Mandalorian Update for Millennium Falcon Ride"

by Samuel May 13,2025

Exciting new details about the upcoming *The Mandalorian and Grogu*-themed update for *Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run* were unveiled at Star Wars Celebration. This update, set to launch on May 22, 2026, will offer a thrilling choose-your-own-adventure-style storyline featuring visits to Coruscant, Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor. A key highlight is that Engineers will have the unique opportunity to care for Grogu, adding a new layer of interaction to the experience.

The storyline diverges from the plot of the new *The Mandalorian & Grogu* movie but will still prominently feature Din Djarin and Grogu. The narrative kicks off with Hondo Ohnaka discovering a high-stakes deal on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and pirates. This sets the stage for an exhilarating chase across the galaxy, where guests will join forces with Mando and Grogu to pursue a bounty in a dynamic, galaxy-spanning adventure.

While the full details are yet to be revealed, it's clear that the Engineers will have a significantly expanded role, taking care of Grogu throughout the mission. This adds a delightful and unique twist to the gameplay, enhancing the immersive experience for guests.

In an interview with Walt Disney Imagineering's Asa Kalama, we gained further insights into what to expect. "Throughout the mission, we're going to be giving the engineers the opportunity to actually get to communicate with Grogu," Kalama explained. "We think it's going to be a ton of fun. There may be times when Mando has to deboard the Razor Crest and Grogu, left to his own devices, might get a little happy on the control panel. So, we love the idea of there being these fun little vignettes and moments where you're sort of on the comm with Grogu."

The choose-your-own-adventure aspect will involve critical decision-making moments. Kalama elaborated, "There will be a sort of critical moment in your adventure where you are strapped for time and have to make a lightning quick decision about which of our particular bounties we want to pursue. And that's going to be the sort of inciting incident that allows us to decide which are the different destinations we go to."
