Ditto Disguises in Pokemon GO Updated for March 2025

by Aaron May 29,2025

If you're a Pokémon GO player, you already know that catching Ditto is a challenge, but it’s made even more exciting by its ability to disguise itself as other Pokémon. Over the years, Ditto has been a staple in the game, often mimicking creatures like Zorua with its transformation mechanics. However, its current list of disguises has evolved, and as of March 2025, you’ll need to keep an eye out for Bergmite, Bidoof, Goldeen, Gothita, Koffing, Numel, Oddish, Rhyhorn, Solosis, Spinarak, and Stufful to spot a hidden Ditto.

To identify a disguised Ditto, simply catch the Pokémon as usual. Once captured, it will transform back into Ditto before the catch screen appears. A telltale sign that you’ve caught a Ditto is the “Oh?” message that pops up over your Poké Ball. From there, you’ll see the Ditto revert to its true form, and voilà—you’ve caught the elusive blob!

While Ditto remains relatively rare, there’s a trick to spotting it. Even in disguise, Ditto typically has a lower Combat Power (CP) compared to the Pokémon it mimics. For example, at Trainer Level 50, Ditto’s max CP is around 940, whereas Goldeen’s max CP is approximately 1302. Keeping this in mind can boost your chances of identifying Ditto when it appears.

And if you’re lucky enough to encounter a Shiny Ditto, consider yourself incredibly fortunate. The odds of finding a Shiny Ditto are 1 in 64, making it even rarer than a regular Ditto. To maximize your chances, use items like Incense or Lure Modules to increase spawn rates. Even better, you can rely on your free Daily Adventure Incense for a modest boost during its 15-minute duration.

Now that you’re armed with the latest Ditto disguises, why not redeem some Pokémon GO promo codes for free items? And if you’re curious about evolving Dunsparce, check out whether it’s possible to add another evolution to your Pokédex. Happy hunting!
