Following the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be discovered inside chests scattered throughout the mines in *Fields of Mistria*. My first encounter with these stones occurred while searching for items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60. However, be on the lookout as chests can appear on any level across all biomes. Beware of mimic enemies that mimic chests but will damage you upon interaction.

Essence Stones are available in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. The smaller sizes are more common, but with diligent searching, you can find larger ones. If locating them proves challenging, consider crafting them at the Stone Refinery, which you can construct within the mines.

How To Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery, introduced with the March 2025 update, is your go-to spot for crafting Essence Stones in *Fields of Mistria*. Building this refinery is part of a new story quest where you'll work alongside Adeline, Olric, and Errol to construct it within the mines. To get started, gather the following materials:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once the Stone Refinery is up and running, you can craft Essence Stones of different sizes using Stone and Essence. The amount of materials required varies with the size of the stone. Below is a detailed breakdown of the crafting requirements:

In addition to Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery also allows crafting a variety of common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond. This makes it a valuable hub for acquiring essential resources for new builds and other projects in *Fields of Mistria*.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update brought the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, both of which require Essence Stones to operate. Larger stones provide a longer charge, with Large Essence Stones offering the most days of use.

The auto-petter mechanic is facilitated by the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. With an Essence Stone inserted, this statue will automatically pet all animals inside daily. You can find this rare item in a concealed cave next to Errol's house in the Narrows by using the Dragon's Breath spell to open the entrance. Once unlocked, you can craft additional statues as needed.

The sprinkler mechanic, powered by the Water Sprite Statue, automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius when equipped with an Essence Stone. These statues can be placed anywhere on your farm. To find the first Water Sprite Statue and its crafting scroll, head to a small island east of the beach, past the Lighthouse area. Use Dragon's Breath to access the entrance.

As *Fields of Mistria* continues to evolve with future updates from NPC Studio, Essence Stones are likely to play an increasingly important role in enhancing gameplay and functionality.
