Confirmed: Marvel Rivals will be getting 2 heroes every 3 months
NetEase Games is committed to keeping Marvel Rivals fresh with regular updates. The plan is to release updates approximately every six weeks, introducing two new heroes each quarter. This ensures a constant stream of new content to engage players.
Game director Guangyun Chen revealed a two-part seasonal update structure: one hero added in the first half, another in the second. This approach aims to maintain player and audience interest. Beyond new heroes, updates will include new maps, storylines, and objectives.
Several characters are already confirmed, including the upcoming Blade and Altron (previously leaked), as well as the recently announced Fantastic Four.
According to GameLook, Marvel Rivals generated approximately $100 million globally, with a significant portion from the Chinese market. This marks a substantial entry into the gaming world for Marvel, a giant in the film industry.
Marvel Rivals successfully filled a void in the hero-shooter genre following the less-than-stellar reception of Square Enix's Avengers. NetEase delivered a high-quality game featuring a compelling roster of characters, earning positive reviews upon its release.
