Sandfall Interactive Unveils Official Esquie Plushie, Cautions Against Fraudulent Sales

by Olivia Oct 31,2025

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 features a cast of unforgettable characters, with Esquie, the game’s endearing giant companion, stealing hearts as a potential mascot. The studio is alerting fans to fraudulent merchandise schemes while excitingly confirming an official Esquie plushie is in development.

In a statement on X/Twitter from the official Expedition 33 account, Sandfall Interactive highlighted the emergence of several “suspicious” websites offering Esquie plushies.

“To clarify: any third-party sites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed,” the studio stated. “Many use AI-generated artwork for promotion, and we strongly advise against buying from these sources, as they may be scams.”

Balancing caution with enthusiasm, Sandfall confirmed plans for official Esquie plushies, aiming for a swift release. “Please stay patient—and avoid scams!” the studio urged.

Fans of the game understand the demand for an Esquie plushie. For those yet to embark on Expedition 33, Esquie is a massive, lovable ally introduced in Act 1, serving as both a travel companion and a unique overworld traversal method, reminiscent of Big Hero 6’s Baymax.

Given Esquie’s appeal, it’s no surprise a plushie would spark interest. Sandfall’s work on an official version is welcome news, as a quick Google search reveals unofficial sites and discussions about dubious Esquie plushie vendors. Fans seeking the authentic product from Sandfall and Kepler will need to wait a little longer. It remains unclear if the real-life plushie will include Esquie’s in-game wine-filled charm.

Recently, Sandfall Interactive released patch 1.2.3 for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, fine-tuning the balance of Maelle’s Stendhal ability. The game also earned praise from French President Emmanuel Macron, who lauded its developers as a “brilliant showcase of French creativity and boldness.”
