Capcom Hints at Resident Evil 9 in Fun Video Marking 10M RE4 Players
Capcom has subtly teased Resident Evil 9 in a celebratory video marking 10 million players for Resident Evil 4. In the clip shared by the development team, a rustic sign featuring the phrase "Thank you for playing" takes center stage. Tilt the sign, and the wooden planks form the Roman numeral "IX," hinting at the upcoming ninth installment in the series.
Although Capcom hasn't officially confirmed the tease, horror game insider Dusk Golem noted that the lower plank wasn't visible in earlier parts of the video, suggesting intentional design. The video ends with a dramatic rock performance by Dr. Salvador, leaving fans buzzing with excitement.
Meanwhile, Capcom has confirmed that the next mainline title in the series will be helmed by Resident Evil 7 director Koshi Nakanishi. While details remain scarce, Nakanishi expressed confidence in the project, hinting at an island setting inspired by Singapore. Stay tuned for more updates as the reveal draws closer!
