Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Update 1
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch its first Title Update tomorrow, introducing quests that encourage players to compete for the fastest clear times. In anticipation of this update, Capcom has issued a strong statement against cheating, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining a fair and enjoyable gaming environment.
In a recent post on their X/Twitter account, Capcom warned players: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests." This clear stance aims to deter any form of cheating that could manipulate rankings or quest completion times.
Capcom also highlighted the risks associated with multiplayer hunts, stating that players who participate in quests with cheaters might face invalid quest completion times and could have their "right to rewards" revoked. The company advised players to be cautious and avoid multiplayer sessions with those suspected of engaging in prohibited activities. They further encouraged players to report any instances of cheating they encounter during quests.
The new quests introduced in Title Update 1 will offer exciting rewards, including cosmetic pendants. Some rewards will be available to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This structure explains Capcom's stringent measures against cheating, as it directly impacts the fairness of reward distribution and competition.
The Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub in Suja. To participate, players must first complete a special tutorial mission to unlock the Grand Hub. Be sure to head there as soon as Title Update 1 goes live tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds.
